<ul>
 	<li>introducing students to Jesus Christ and</li>
 	<li>building students up in their faith.</li>
</ul>

InterVarsity is people, students and staff members, united together in their commitment to Jesus Christ, God’s people and Christ’s work in the world. InterVarsity seeks to bring together students from all denominations and backgrounds to serve God and share with each other. These priorities focus and guide our lives.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is an interdenominational non-sports related organization with chapters at over 900 campuses in the United States. The name “InterVarsity” originated in England when several Christian groups at different universities (called “varsities”) formed a confederation.

The Berea College IV chapter meets one evening a week to worship, pray, study Scripture and topics dealing with Christian living and fellowship with one another. Smaller groups also meet weekly, depending on the special interests of those in InterVarsity. These small groups share in more individualized discussion and study. We also have a prayer meeting once a week in which we share praises and concerns, seek God’s will, and lift each other up in prayer.

Possible projects include support of mission work, involvement in service groups on campus, and other service efforts. In addition, InterVarsity provides the opportunity to attend regional and national conferences.

We welcome you and encourage you to visit us and become a part of our fellowship. We look forward to an exciting year as the Lord leads us in new directions.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

The Newman Club is sponsored by St. Clare Catholic Church (622 Chestnut Street, Berea). Our purpose is to provide a community of friendship, prayer, service, growth, and fun within the larger college community. We try to accomplish this by:
<ul>
 	<li>Bringing together interested persons on campus to help create this kind of community</li>
 	<li>Providing opportunities to come together for liturgy and prayer</li>
 	<li>Providing volunteer opportunities in service-oriented projects in the surrounding area</li>
 	<li>Providing opportunities for growth and knowledge in areas of the faith and current religious issues</li>
 	<li>Providing social activities occasionally — camping trips, socials, meals together, etc.</li>
 	<li>Working together with other religious groups on campus.</li>
</ul>
We invite you to join in Newman Club membership and activities. It is open to any interested persons on campus, of any creed. Meeting dates and times TBA.

Also, masses at St. Clare are Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship is a national network of (Eastern) Orthodox Christian students and also the name that our local “OCF” branch at Berea College goes by. The overall mission of the OCF – both nationally and locally – is clear: to transform the lives of college students by guiding them along the path to Jesus Christ through His Church, cultivating a campus community of worship, witness, service, fellowship, and education.

Sponsored faithfully on an informal basis by St. Athanasius Orthodox Church (100 Lime Lane in Nicholasville, KY) for many years, our Berea OCF was finally fully registered as a formal student organization in 2019-2020.

In addition to being a community that fosters Orthodox worship, witness, service, fellowship, and education, our local OCF – because of the diversity of Berea College – serves as a matrix for bringing together many Orthodox Christians from all over the world: Eastern Europe, Greece, the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East, and even from America (with no “ethnic” heritage of Orthodoxy). Our students enjoy the unique opportunity of exploring the ancient Orthodox faith in the context of a healthy academic community and with Orthodox believers from around the world!
